Data usage on mobile devices

If you use Zattoo on a mobile device, data usage depends on the picture quality and the selected bitrate.

Please note:
The following figures are guidelines and may vary depending on usage and connection quality.

Data usage per hour

With continuous use, approximately the following amounts of data may be used:

• SD channels: up to 1.3 GB per hour
• HD channels: up to 2.2 GB per hour
• Full HD channels: up to 3.5 GB per hour

Adjust the bitrate in the app

In the Android and iOS apps, you can adjust the bitrate for mobile use and reduce data consumption.

If you set the bitrate to Low, data usage is limited to around 600 kbps. This corresponds to approximately 300 MB per hour.

Please note:
In other apps, for example on Smart TVs or streaming devices, the bitrate cannot be adjusted.

How to adjust the bitrate

1. Open the Zattoo app.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Open Bitrate settings.
4. Under Mobile / Wi-Fi, choose the setting you want: High or Low.
