1. Important note on device support
Zattoo supports Xiaomi devices running Android TV / Google TV starting from Android TV version 7 and newer.
Older versions are no longer supported. Issues on unsupported devices cannot be resolved.
2. Restart the device (restart or unplug)
Restart the device via the settings menu.
Alternatively, unplug the device from power for at least 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
3. Force stop the Zattoo app
Open Settings → Apps → See all apps → Zattoo.
Select Force stop.
Then open the Zattoo app again.
4. Clear app cache or app data
Open Settings → Apps → See all apps → Zattoo.
Select Clear cache.
If the issue continues, also select Clear data.
Afterwards, restart the Zattoo app and sign in again.
5. Reinstall the Zattoo app
Uninstall the app:
Settings → Apps → See all apps → Zattoo → Uninstall.Restart the device.
Reinstall the app via the Google Play Store.
6. Update the software (Android TV / Google TV)
The menu path may vary depending on your Xiaomi model.
Open Settings → Device Preferences → About.
Select System update or Software update.
Install any available updates and restart the device afterwards.
7. Check storage space and system time
Low storage space or incorrect system time can affect apps and streaming.
Check that enough free storage space is available.
Remove unused apps if needed.
Make sure date and time are set automatically.
8. Check your network connection
Restart your router.
Disconnect and reconnect the network connection.
If possible, test a different network (for example a mobile hotspot).
Check whether other devices on the same network can stream without issues.
Please note:
Public or hotel Wi-Fi networks may restrict or block streaming.
For maximum stability, a wired Ethernet (LAN) connection is recommended if available.
Further tips can be found in our Improve streaming quality article.
9. Disable VPN, proxy or DNS filters
Zattoo may be blocked if your connection uses services that mask or redirect your IP address.
Disable any active VPN or proxy connections.
Check whether DNS filters are active on your network (for example ad blockers, Pi-hole or parental controls) and disable them temporarily.
Restart both your router and the device afterwards.
10. Change DNS settings
If connection issues persist, you can test a different DNS server.
Open Settings → Network & Internet.
Open your connected network.
Go to IP settings.
Set DNS to Manual.
Enter 8.8.8.8 as the DNS server.
Restart the device and test Zattoo again.
11. Reset the device to factory settings
If the steps above don’t resolve the issue, you can reset the device. It will need to be set up again afterwards.
Open Settings → Device Preferences → About → Reset.
Select Factory reset and follow the on-screen instructions.
